The Dodge Warhorse Part 1

The prelude to performance

Bulletproof

Every diesel owner requires a certain level of strength and durability in his truck, but how many can comfortably call their daily driver bulletproof? And what a fitting title it is for a truck that has already stood the test of time and endured the rigors and strains of the life of a workhorse. Aside from towing his various build projects through the mountainous terrain of the Northwest, Unruh uses his Dodge for road trips and camping. But, like any vehicle, time began to wear away at the truck’s tired parts, leaving Unruh with no choice but to perform maintenance and keep the truck moving on the road.

“With as long as I've had the truck, it's only natural that some of the parts are on their way out,” admits Unruh. “I've already got 311,000 miles on it and although the engine is still running strong, the power and mileage has decreased, and the transmission starts to slip when I tow heavier loads.”
