March 2013 Round Up Katie Burke

Duramax LBZ/LMM 45/40 Compound Twin Turbo Kit from PPE

A dual turbo setup is the way to go for power wow factor. And Pacific Performance Engineering is there for you with a twin turbo system that has incredible power gains due to the fact that there is so little turbo lag time. The Garrett GTX4508R and GT4094R work together, yet each has its own specialty. The GT4094 spools up quicker resulting in an excellent low to mid-range hit, but once the engine hits the mid-range, the 38mm TiAL wastegate diverts more of the exhaust pressure to the GTX4508. It's the GTX4508 which supplies the great mid- to high-end power hit that will really put your diesel into overdrive. PPE combines the turbos with a ported 3-inch intake bridge that features a 4-inch cold tube and Race High Flow exhaust manifolds with up pipes. This combination provides the engine with drastically enhanced intake and exhaust capabilities, providing unrestricted flow for the dual turbo system. Speaking of flow, the PPE High Performance Intercooler cools the air before it's pumped into the engine. It's available for LBZ/LMM only. The PPE dual turbo systems do all that and still retain the A/C and heater functions so you don't have to sacrifice comfort while smokin' up the roadways. (www.ppediesel.com/714-985-4825)
