GM 6.2L Sidewinder Turbo System from Banks Power

The Gale Banks Sidewinder Turbo System was an industry game changer back in 1989 when General Motors offered it as a factory-installed dealer option for the 6.2L diesel engine. Over two decades later the system is still unrivaled. Sidewinder adds up to 60hp, 115 lb./ft torque and 19 percent better fuel economy.

First, the Ram-Air intake cuts flow restrictions and draws in cool, dense air. This air is compressed in the wastegated Sidewinder Turbocharger assembly, which bolts directly to the pulse-tuned Banks cast exhaust manifold. Exhaust exits the turbo and travels down a mandrel bent turbine outlet pipe-constant diameter provides for instant turbo response.  The gas is channeled through a 3-inch exhaust system to the Monster muffler and then exits out of a 3.5-inch tailpipe tip. The Banks Monster exhaust virtually eliminates backpressure and outflows stock by up to 80 percent, delivering an authoritative yet civil tone.  To monitor performance, the kit also comes with a pyrometer and boost gauge.  The Banks Sidewinder Turbo System includes everything needed for a seamless installation.
