The kit was extremely well made, with a billet aluminum top and a heavy steel canister below to hold the element. The element media is made from layers of cotton, polyester and micro fiberglass. This is actually the same unit they use on semi-trucks and commercial mining equipment.

The filter element used in the FS-2500 is made of cotton, polyester and mocro-fiberglass. These materials do not deteriorate, so breakdown inside the canister is not a problem.
However, over-the-road trucks are getting insane mileage out of their oil because of the amount of miles they run each year. Some trucks are reporting at least 400,000 miles on the same synthetic oil (lab tested).
We'll run the miles, test, run the miles, test and run more miles and get back to you with our results as we continue to real-world test Project LBMC.
