PSD Resurrection Part 6

From dedicated work truck to hardcore street truck

Published in the October 2010 Issue October 2010 Build, PowerStroke

The June 2009 issue was mostly concentrated around furthering the looks of the truck as we installed a fiberglass hood from Cervinis, soft roll-up bed cover from AgriCover, new custom two-tone paint and lowered the rear suspension a little more than two inches.

On the performance side of things, we were also able to install a new FP100 AirDog fuel system that worked in conjunction with the regulated fuel return system we'd purchased from Sinister Diesel of Phoenix, AZ. Part four (August 2009) of the build-up went right back into upgrades for the engine, with the installation of a new dual high pressure oil pump system from Terminator Engineering, some ARP head studs and a new custom-tuned internet-updateable chip from DP Tuner.

To wrap up our project we needed to look into upgrading the stock transmission as the new power under the hood didn't take long to really start wearing down that factory slush box. So we installed a complete Stage II transmission from John Wood Automotive, which meant the transmission would finally allow us to use all that power and actually convert it into forward momentum on the street.
