Mickey Thompson Joins the Adventure Trek

June 2021 News Web Exclusive

Yukon Gear & Axle’s inaugural Adventure Trek presented by Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels is bringing partners together for a three day off road trip through the Pacific Northwest.

Beginning in Packwood, WA, the Adventure Trek runs the eastern slope of Mount Rainier and ends near the Canadian border. With elevations topping 7,000 feet, the ride features both snow and desert terrain as it follows the famous Washington Backcountry Discovery Route. All rigs on the Adventure Trek will feature Mickey Thompson’s new Baja Boss A/T tires.

"We are excited to be a part of the first Adventure Trek ride," said Ken Warner, Vice President of Marketing for Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels. "The Pacific Northwest is beautiful, but the terrain proves to be difficult. Our Baja Boss A/T tires are designed to tackle various conditions, making them a great fit for the Adventure Trek."

The Washington Backcountry Discovery Route was originally designed for backcountry motorcycling, but used by many off-roaders throughout the year. Yukon and Mickey Thompson invited a select group of long-standing
business and racing partners of their brands, to run with them, including John Herrick from CRAWL Magazine, Ian Johnson from Big Tire Garage, Dusty Sexton from Sexton Off Road, John Mathews of Auburn Car Repair, Andrew Mclaughlin from Letz Roll Off Road and Nic Ashby from Rockstar Performance Garage.
"In a conversation with John Herrick at CRAWL magazine, we came up with the idea to get away with some close friends in the business. At the same time, our friends at Mickey Thompson were talking about their new Baja
Boss A/T tires and it all came together," says Neal Hollingsworth, VP of Marketing at Yukon. "All of the people joining us have been close associates of our business and we’re excited to have them in our backyard to experience the Pacific Northwest and all its beauty."

Many can say they’ve completed a triathlon, but how many can say they’ve won a gold medal in the triathlon at the Olympics? Many can say they’ve flown an aircraft, but how many can say they’ve done it in space? Being one of only a few is special. It’s unique. It sets you apart from others and in the truck scene, only 250 lucky diesel pickup enthusiasts will have the honor of saying they own and drive the slick design of the 2021 Ford Shelby F250 Super Baja.
