Hot For Diesel
Kalin got involved with Diesel Hotties about a year and a half ago. She had been running another Facebook group as an admin and had gotten submissions from Karen Clement. The page started to go south, and Karen proposed the idea of them starting their own page and calling it Diesel Hotties. “I said, ‘I’m in, let’s do this,’” Kalin says. “From then on, we started from ground zero on Instagram and Facebook, and we just didn’t think we were going to be where we were right now. I talk to Karen and say, ‘Remember when we were at 6,000 people and now we’re over 100,000?’ We used to beg big pages to post us and support us and sponsor us. Now we have big pages reaching out to us wanting to be featured on our page, and they want their girls to wear our gear. It has skyrocketed completely and I am incredibly proud to be a part of this group. It just feels good to know that we built something from the ground up.”
Kalin says that a lot of girls would reach out to the page and say that they didn’t have a club for girls who actually drive trucks, so she took it upon herself to create a Diesel Hotties truck club. She says, “We have girls who actually drive trucks, rock the decal, represent us, and we just have little truck meets. It’s just fun. It gives us girls a purpose, because I feel like for a woman in the diesel industry, it’s really hard to get through.”
