Tow The Line
One of the most important parts of a build, especially one focused on towing, is the turbo. To that end, we ended up going with Fleece Performance, who is known for making some of the best turbos in the business. We decided to go with the s468 billet turbo and paired it up with a Steed speed manifold. Travis says, “I think one of the biggest things about Fleece is that their kit is very complete. It’s detailed and comes with everything you need. A lot of companies and kits are missing tiny things. You end up having to bend this, or tweak that, or move factory stuff out of the way, but Fleece’s kit even comes with stuff like AC lines. Everything fit beautifully like it should.”
For the injectors, Travis recommended Exergy, because he knows that for any high-performance truck builds, they’re the best game in town. He uses them all the time in his shop and swears by them.
Next in line to get upgraded was the transmission. The choice? Travis was all about RevMax. He’s had nothing but success with them, so he took the transmission out of the truck, sent it to them, and they worked it into their signature 700 series transmission. From top to bottom, the new transmission is designed to just work, and the 700 series is specifically built with towing in mind. One more check in the win column!
