Chris Blair's Truck Next Door

Magnolia, Texas

June 2017 Cummins, Feature My Truck, Feature DT Staff

My 1997 Dodge was completely gutted and redone. I bought it to flip it quickly but after looking at it I knew I had to fix it up before selling it. I pulled the engine and transmission out and rebuilt it, pulled the cab and bed off the frame and sanded down the frame and painted it. I installed an all-new suspension and brake system and added a lowering kit as well. I left the engine build mostly stock and worked on the looks of the truck. I had to replace the hood, fenders and drivers door and added a roll pan and LED tail lights with a matching third brake light. I also installed a fourth generation bumper in place of the Ranch Hand it had on it when I bought the truck. I gutted the interior and replaced the dash, carpet, and head liner; basically everything inside the truck as well, including the entire A/C system. No short cuts were done in this build. It took me five months of just weekends building the truck due to owning a shop and not having the time during the week to work on it. I went with a Ford Grey off a customer’s ‘07 F250 that was in the shop at the time I started the build. Some of the mods include a DDP Rack cap, DDP AFC kit, DAP 120HP injectors, DDP 4K springs, AEM intake, aFe intake horn, ATS transmission pan, ATS diff cover, 5-inch MBRP exhaust with an MBRP 6-inch Mitre cut stack, Alto Red Eagle clutches and DBL Disc TC, ARP head studs, Tork Tek 60hp overflow valve, FASS Titanium 125gph, Roll Pan, Moto Metal MO976 Wrapped with Nitto 420's, Belltech 3-inch by 4-inch drop kit, Sport mirrors, LED tail lights and third brake light and a billet grille insert. The truck’s named Slow Build, but by the time I'm writing this new goodies will be arriving.
