Behind The Wrench Part 2

April 2016 Brady L. Kay

After focusing in Part 1 on the steps Adrenaline Performance Technician Josh Maldonado took to build up his own 2005 Chevy 6.6L Duramax LLY, now it’s time for the professional mechanic to complete his build.

One of the perks to his job is being able to see what works best, so when he finally finds time to work on his own diesel, he already knows exactly what he wants to do.

For some owners, upgrading to twin turbos, rebuilding the transmission to hold more power and installing a 4-inch Diamond Eye exhaust, Edge tuner, FASS pump, head gaskets and ARP head studs would be enough, but Josh is only getting started.

Coincidentally, a lot of the work that was done to the truck before Josh bought it was completed by him. The previous owner took the LLY into Adrenaline Performance in Shelley, Idaho, where Josh works, to have the upgrades done.
