Lens Flare

The final addition for Part Five was the Bushwacker fender flares. Luckily, they were a snap to install, literally. Thanks to some preexisting holes, they simply snapped them into position in the wheel wells without having to do any extra drilling. While you might think that fender flares are simply cosmetic, they also serve a few important purposes. First, they keep a vehicle compliant with vehicle equipment laws by extending the profile of the truck body out to cover oversized wheels and tires, which is definitely a consideration with those Mickey Thompson tires we put on last time. Second, they deflect rocks and debris away from the truck body that the tires might kick up. Finally, they just plain look great. The black flares match the overall color scheme of the truck, pairing nicely with the bumpers, steps and tires.
Fast Approaching The Finish
The sun’s about to set on this project, but we still have a few tiny things to do to wrap things up, like put a vehicle wrap on the whole truck. (I promised I wouldn’t make a pun out of that. Resolve holding for now…) But mostly, the next and final installment of Project LBZ will be a summary of the entire journey.
