Project LBZ Part 4

November 2015 Build, Duramax Trevor Mason

Wheelman

With all of the modifications we’ve done so far, both inside and out, it would be a travesty to leave the stock tires and wheels on the truck. We’ve all seen trucks on the road jacked up with lifts but still sporting the weenie little stock wheels. We weren’t about to let that happen, so we went with Mickey Thompson 20-inch Deegan 38s and Mamba  20x9 wheels. Greg says, “I love the look of the Deegans. I am also a Brian Deegan fan and have followed him in Motocross and rally car racing. Mickey Thompson has a great name and a high quality product.”

When we asked him about the wheels themselves, he said, “Honestly, I was on-line looking at several different rim styles. This particular rim caught my eye and I made the call to Mamba. They informed me that they are going to release new models for this segment of the market. I'm excited to see what they come up with.”

The tires were put on the wheels at a local tire shop, giving our project truck a much-needed makeover.

Finally, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the Retrax Bed Cover. This cover fits into tracks that run along the top edge of either side of the truck bed and rolls up into a compartment at the front of the bed. It comes with a lock that when coupled with a locking tailgate keeps anything in the bed totally safe and secure.

Greg says, “I liked the fact that I can lock this cover in several different positions. It is very easy to open and close and it keeps the weather out.”
