Details on the new 2016 Ram 3500

July 2015 Cummins, News Trevor Mason Web Exclusive

The very first 2016 Ram 3500 has rolled off the assembly line at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA)'s Saltillo truck assembly plant. Fresh from the factory, this bad boy comes with an astounding 900 lb.-ft. of torque. As you may have already guessed, it's a Mega Cab Laramie Longhorn.

From their press release:

All 2016 Ram 3500 dually configurations with a 6.7-liter Cummins and Aisin transmission have the capability to tow 30,000 pounds or more using SAE J2807 criteria. The 2016 Ram 3500 Reg Cab 2WD holds the pickup towing capability title at 31,210 pounds. Ram 3500 HDs also are payload-hauling champs at 7,390 pounds.

Other features of the 2016 model year include best-in-class fuel economy with exclusive EcoDiesel – 29 mpg with Ram 1500.

If you're looking at getting a new truck this year or next, you could do a lot worse than a Ram. Just saying.
