Hit List

Bulletproof BDS triple shock 8-inch suspension

Hayward had done some serious research and had already completed his "hit list" of parts that he was looking for that included a huge black hitch mounted Monster Hook and Mag-Hytec's front and rear differential covers. BDS wanted him to test out their new Triple Front Shock Kit that adds a double shock hoop to his existing single setup that he was more the willing to do.

"They also sent me BDS Rear Traction Bars and BDS Dual 9500 Series Steering Stabilizers and Mounting System that ended up replacing the Carli SS and the Mag-Hytec SS bracket," says Hayward. "Glacier Diesel Performance hooked me up with a ton of their top-of-the-line parts including the GDP 6.7L Air-Boss 67, Grid Delete, GDP Mega-Flo S-2 Flanged Back Intake Manifold that replaced the H&S MaxxFlow, GDP Mega-Flo Throttle Valve Grid Heater, GDP Silicone Boost Tube that replaced the H&S boost tube with stainless steel Clamp Upgrade, GDP Big Fuel Line Kit, GDP Open CCV Breather Kit to prevent junk from the engine gumming up the turbo and damaging it and GDP Silicone EGR Cooler Bypass Hose to convert my H&S coolant block off kit to a free flowing setup. The GDP parts are all amazing. The grid heater delete and relocation kit really helped reduce EGTs and increase flow."

Mag-Hytec differential covers

Hayward next contacted Iron Cross Bumpers and with two of his Army buddies they installed the Iron Cross Base black powder coated front and rear bumpers, which he liked because they are heavy and in his words, crazy strong. The three also installed the BDS dual steering stabilizer, but they had to cut and modify the front Mag-Hytec differential cover to get the steering stabilizer shock on the driver's side to clear without hitting. Then they installed the BDS rear traction bars, which they again had to modify. The brackets needed to be slightly altered to clear the AMP Steps idler arm in the rear.

Superwinch sent him the Talon 12.5 Winch, which according to Hayward fit great after he remote mounted the electronics inside the passenger side bumper for clearance. Snow Performance sent him the Stage 3 MPG-MAX Water-Methanol injection system, which he was excited to have and was able to install himself in just one afternoon.

"The water-meth system can run the 50 percent Snow Performance mixture or negative 20 degree blue windshield washer fluid, which is 33 percent and a lot cheaper," explains Hayward. "This system lowered my EGTs when towing and when daily driving around town. It also added about 60 plus extra horsepower, which is always a nice bonus!"
