The Snap-on Heavy Duty Adjustable Creeper

Snap-on heavy duty adjustable creeperIt's not a badge of honor kind of thing, but more of an embarrassment. But with the help of several generous applications of Gorilla glue-and whatever else I could find-I've managed to keep my old creeper working for years. This old beater dates back to when I was in my youth and I'm truly amazed it has lasted this long.

Earlier this spring I was using it to look under my truck when it finally gave in. I found out the hard way that I weigh a little more than I did when I was in my 20s. The board splintered and the next thing I knew I had an old creeper wheel lodged into my shoulder blade. This time I didn't bother getting the glue, I just headed for the Internet.

My earliest garage memories include using my dad's collection of Snap-on Tools. He still loves to boast how dependable and durable these tools are so I decided this was the best place to start when I went in search of a creeper replacement. But I didn't want just a replacement, I wanted a creeper upgrade that would support a big guy like me, plus be built to last. I came across the Heavy Duty Creeper on Snap-on's website and instantly knew it was what I was looking for. The official model number is JCW75ABL, but it's simply known as the Heavy Duty Adjustable Creeper.

At just over 28 pounds it truly is a creeper that was made and designed for those big guys like me who are basically a biscuit shy of 300 pounds. According to Snap-on, the 16-gauge frame is 20 percent thicker and the pad is 15 percent larger than its competitors. The high-density foam is very comfortable and with the 4-inch swivel casters with spring ride, it's by far the best creeper I've ever used. Besides the ease of mobility, I also love the low profile design as well as the adjustable pad for your head.

Don't let the suggested retail price of $245.25 scare you away. In this industry you get what you pay for and if you're looking for a top-of-the-line creeper that you know will last long enough for you to pass it along to the next generation in your family, this heavy-duty model from Snap-on is worthy of a closer look.
