Duramax vs. Power Stroke: Which side are you on?

Many truck owners are big fans of diesel engines, but with each of the Detroit automakers using a different diesel, heavy-duty truck buyers have options.

What side are you on: Duramax, or Power Stroke?

Both Ford and GM have tuned and tweaked their offerings: Ford released the new in-house 6.7-liter Power Stroke engine; after a new software upgrade, it's now rated at 400 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque. GM's Duramax has been updated and now is rated at 397 hp and 765 lb-ft of torque. Each hooks up with a six-speed automatic transmission that features manual shift modes.

Of course there's also the Cummins diesel in the Dodge Ram, but it hasn't been upgraded recently.
