Superchips Launches Performance Race Division, Racing Tuner

June 2010 News, Chips

Superchips, a Florida-based company that offers hand-held programmers for truck performance enthusiasts, has just launched its first Superchips Racing Performance Racing Division. With the new race division, the company is also kicking off a new product, a racing performance programmer-Superchips Racing Ford Diesel Tuner (part no. 1856).

The folks over at Superchips say the tuner was designed for racing environments like drag racing, sled pulling, rock crawling, closed course road and trail racing. The new product promises to maximize engine and transmission performance for Ford 2008-10 6.4L Power Stroke and 2003-07 6.0L Power Strokes. The tuner also incorporates vehicle coverage for the 1999-2003 7.3L Power Stroke, plus Gold Chip tuning.

Superchips designers say the racing tuner will eliminate problems like overly sensitive pedals, engine surge, and abrupt shifts at part and wide open throttle. The devices include up to five power levels, wheel/tire and gear adjustment, and speed and rev limiter adjustment, WOT shift point adjustment, shift pressure adjustment, diagnostic read and clear, and performance monitoring including PID display and quarter-mile timing. However, features vary by make and model.

Advanced racing features include diesel particulate filter (DPF) management (on/off/delete), exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) management (on/off) and fuel injection control management optimization, which will be available this summer.
