POWER TRANSFER

With a 450-horsepower powerplant breathing under the hood, it wasn't long before that six-speed Allison automatic started calling out for help. Under daily driving conditions the transmission performed flawlessly, nice and easy shifts, just like they should be. But it's when Brendle hooked onto his 15,000-pound portable Superflow dyno the Allison started whimpering. Torque converter slippage became constant under load and the shifts started becoming more and more erratic.

The call was made to ATS Diesel and some parts were sent out to help solve his issues before major damage could occur. They started off with the installation of ATS's billet flex plate, Five-Star torque converter and Co-Pilot shift enhancer. With ATS Diesel parts helping plant power to the ground, worries of being stranded on the side of the road with blown tranny parts soon faded. Brendle also took the time to install an ATS deep transmission pan and a PML rear differential cover to keep fluid temperatures in check while towing.
