Project LBMC

Stage 5 Fuel and Air

Published in the September 2006 Issue June 2009

Project LBMC is our over-the-road, hot-shot tested, heavy-haulin' 2007 Dodge 3500 DRW Long Bed Mega Cab.

We started in our October, 2008 issue by taking the truck to Precision Bodyline, in North Salt Lake, UT, for its complete long bed conversion. After the frame was stretched and factory long box added, Precision Bodyline installed a PopUp Industries gooseneck hitch, AirLift 5000 lb. load capacity airbags and a WirelessAir compressor system. We then added a Hellbent Steel 2-inch leveling kit to accommodate 22.5-inch Alcoa 10-lug rims on commercial tires.

Next, we added a 4-inch diameter BD stainless dual exhaust kit, a BD Steering Box Stabilizer and a BD 4-inch in-line exhaust brake. In the last issue of Diesel Tech, we pulled the transmission and added an upgraded valve body, HD torque converter and a forged steel flex plate from BD's line up. Now that we have a solid platform for some power, we'll add some additional fuel and compound turbos.
