The emerging popularity of Ford’s new 7.3L “truck” engine in com-petition applications has prompted highly respected piston manufacturer Wiseco to develop a high performance 2618 forged aluminum replacement for the OEM hypereutectic piston. They have been used successfully by leading Ford engine builders.
Offered with either 10.0:1 and 11.0:1 compression ratios, the piston features a 4.220-inch bore design to compliment factory specs. The forging features a strutted design to provide maximum strength at minimum weight, and is bolstered by the use of an H-13 tool steel wrist pin. Wiseco’s race-proven ArmorGlide® skirt coating reduces friction and pro-vides improved durability.
