Sethe Murray's Truck Next Door

December 2020 Feature My Truck DT Staff

This article originally appeared in the November 2020 issue.

Take a look at this sizeable one-ton truck. As a 6.7L short-bed crew cab Lariat model owned by Sethe Murray of greater Nampa, Idaho, it’s a fairly high-end machine. Its color scheme of black and gold also reflects the truck’s high-end trim level quite well. Of course, because the truck is a diesel, that makes it at least twice as interesting. Probably the largest upgrade you’ll notice on this one is the big 12-inch lift from Top Gun Customz, making the beast tower over others on the road. Along with the massive lift kit are PMF traction bars and dual steering stabilizers, and it all sits on 26-inch Tuff chrome wheels (with 2-inch wheel spacers) wrapped in 40-inch Fuel M/T tires.

Sethe sees quite some meaningful usage with the rig, as he uses it to haul several motorized toys. The engine might be modestly built, but the upgrades on this one are indeed outstanding to say the least. The diesel life Sethe lives is definitely well-deserved. In the future, he plans to upgrade his already massive wheels and tires even further as well as add off-road bumpers and more color-matching. “People will hate you because of the success they don’t have from the work they haven’t done,” Sethe says. “I tell them to not think that way, but instead know that anything is possible if you put your mind to it, so work for it.”
