Trucks Next Door--Bob Ward

Bob Ward said he bought the cab forward as a roller. The plan was always to have the running boards and front bumper on the ground with air bags. The 7.3L IDI diesel engine and Dana 70 Dually rear end came later but before the build started.

For modifications he added 7.3L IDI N/A Diesel Custom turbo setup, HX35 custom frame back half, 4 link 3.54 gears with locker E40D upgraded trans, US Shift 4 Trans Controller and B&M Ratchet Shifter.

“I use the truck for everything, mostly traveling with my home built 18-foot trailer,” Ward said. He also enjoys drag racing, burnouts, car shows and just driving to work.

He has logged 18,000 miles on this truck during the past three summers.

“The truck turned out exactly how I dreamed,” he said. “I built the whole thing myself in a 1.5 car garage in 3.5 years. Not bad at all for my first build.”
