Adding Style
Now that the truck ran smooth and strong, Hopkins turned his attention to the aesthetic appeal he wanted for it. A Westin step bar and Lightforce lights were installed and the rocker panels were Rhino lined. Hopkins then added projector head lights, installed a Pro-Tech headache rack with smoked lights, Recon fender, cab and tail lights and tied off the new look with a black painted grille and bumper, with a cowl hood to add the proverbial cherry on top.
With the truck looking great, it was time to ensure that it ran great while under stressful towing loads. To keep the 5500 level, Hopkins installed a Kelderman Air Ride rear suspension, which came equipped with a cab control, so adjusting the height of the rear suspension could be done from the comfort of the cab.
