Letting Her Breathe
For the first part of the build series, we had RKL Diesel Performance in Springville, Utah, help us focus on how the truck breathed. For the air coming in to the engine, we installed an S&B Stage 3 cold air intake system.
For changing how the engine dealt with that air, we installed an Edge Attitude CTS. This was a great addition with its full color 4.3-inch touch screen and the ability to change between five levels of tuning on the fly. Once the engine was done dealing with that air, we changed out the exhaust system for a 4-inch Turboback kit with muffler from MBRP.
With modifications done to help the engine breathe better, we decided to focus on how the engine was putting power to the ground. To help us with that, we again went back to RKL Diesel Performance for an overhaul of the transmission.
