The 2nd Generation air box is exposed to severe heat radiating from the close proximity of the turbocharger and exhaust manifold so the importance of getting colder intake air to the turbocharger is critical. The Cowl Duct air intake provides the coolest air to the turbocharger while retaining the factory sealed air box.
