Horsepower Road Blocks

We originally introduced you to this series of stories last year. It was going to be a three-part series, but due to your overwhelming responses, we are going to continue this for another round covering the 7.3L Power Stroke engines this time.

There are three basic elements to horsepower: air, fuel and heat. From the OEM's, many engines produce a similar amount of horsepower and torque. That's because these manufacturers are not strictly focused on those numbers; when designing engines for over the road use, they must take into account an enormous number of other factors, including emissions, load capabilities, fuel consumption, environment, and how the engine is going to be used, just to name a few factors.
