With the ever-rising popularity of diesel performance, much interest and curiosity arises when a vehicle owner decides on upgrading performance. One of the most popular and sought-after examples would be the second generation 12v Cummins produced from 1994-98. These engines were equipped with the Bosch P7100 inline style injection pump. Many performance upgrades are available and well within the scope of the backyard mechanic despite the need for a few special tools. Accurate and detailed information is most often the deciding factor when performing these tasks. This article will provide some general information on location and terminology of commonly upgraded parts of the P7100.
