Common to the Dodge NV4500 manual transmission

The popular New Venture (NV) 4500 5-speed manual transmission is well known for its strength, durability, and drivability as the 5-speed manual found in late model Chevy ('92 and up) and Dodge ('94 and up) trucks. These are great transmissions. However, their Achilles Heel is in 5th gear. Take a look at these photos we took of an NV4500 from our 1998 Dodge Cummins.
