Hypermax Connecting Rods

Published in the June 2008 Issue June 2008 PowerStroke, Products

Hypermax Engineering has just developed a lightweight, high-strength forged connecting rod for the Ford Powerstroke. The new rods are manufactured from 4340 aircraft-quality forgings which are vacuum heat treated for optimum tensile and yield strength. They are also cryogenically treated to improve grain structure, shot peened to improve fatigue life and magnafluxed for integrity. The forged rods use ARP bolts, which make them an excellent choice for replacing the factory powdered metal rods. Applications include the 1994-2003 7.3L and the 2004-07 6.0L.
