Another problem is the high pressure oil pump which can lead to excessive cranking and causes the trouble codes P2290 and P2291.

  • P2290: ICP Injector control pressure too low: actual pressure is less than commanded for a specified time.
  • P2291: ICP Injector control pressure too low: engine cranking ICP cranking pressure too low.

These codes show that the injector control pressure is too low. The usual culprit, especially if the vehicle is hard to start hot, is the high pressure oil pump.
