On this day 18 years ago, more than 3,000 innocent lives were lost at the hands of al-Qaeda terrorists who hijacked four commercial airliners and targeted the World Trade Center and the Pentagon with the fourth crashing into a field in Shanksville, Penn. None of these lives saw past 10:00am that day. In one single moment, your life may never be the same. As you live, enjoy the breaths you take today and tonight before you hit the pillow in preparation for the next day, show your loved ones some more love, and never take a single second of your life for granted.
Today, we remember not only those who were senselessly murdered, but we also remember the heroic actions of the first responders and the good Samaritan flight passengers who went above and beyond the call of duty in putting their lives on the line that day. Never forget September 11, 2001.
