The tanks themselves are constructed of 12-gauge aluminized steel that has been hot-dipped in aluminum to act as a rust-resistant material. They’re also baffled inside so you don’t have fuel sloshing back and forth. Finally, they’re powder-coated black in a durable finish, with the option for a spray-on, bed-lining-type coating that some enthusiasts prefer. Each tank is a complete system and comes with all the necessary components for installation such as straps and mounting hardware. Gruis was very impressed with how easily everything went onto the trucks. “They are stupid easy to install,” he says. “They fit extremely nice. We’ve done some other brands and have had some issues with the filler neck alignment or burp-back issues when filling it because the pinch of the hose made a really bad bend. These don’t have that. To the general eye, you wouldn’t be able to tell there was an aftermarket tank in there. It didn’t hang low, and you didn’t have to move a bunch of stuff to make it fit under there. It’s almost like it was there from the factory, which was really nice to see.”
Transfer Flow produces all of their tanks at their facility in Chico, CA, using American-made steel. The tanks come with a six-year warranty. Of the new 60-gallon tanks, Johnson says, “We started sending out the 60-gallon tanks at the end of May and it’s just been a great product. I know they’ve done continuous runs of them at our production facility.” With the quality and precision that they produce, we’re bound to keep seeing their stuff on the road for years to come.
