Building It Up

We took the Honey Badger to RKL Diesel in Springville, Utah. In the first part of the series, we had the shop help the truck breathe. For how the air gets in, we went with an S&B Stage 3 cold air intake system. For dealing with the air, we chose an Edge Attitude CTS. For getting the air out, we outfitted the truck with a 4-inch Turboback kit from MBRP.

With that finished, the next part of the build focused on getting the power to the ground. We went back to RKL Diesel and they delivered with their excellent set of skills. Having helped his dad since he was 11 years old building race transmissions, Ryan Lendefeld, owner of the shop, was all game for beefing up the Badger’s transmission. With a complete overhaul of the transmission, the difference in driving dynamics was night and day.
