Winning isn't everything.
But it's the reason people like Verlon Southwick continue to race every chance they get.

Southwick's 2006 GMC LBZ Duramax has been to the winner's circle more times than your neighbor's minivan has been to the grocery store. Last season, Southwick dominated the NHRDA's Division 2 Super Diesel class. And not only did he rack up the most points by the end of the season, he drove the truck to every race he competed in.

Before the 2012 race season kicked off, Southwick set out to upgrade the truck with a more durable drivetrain, decreasing the chance of any failures keeping him from winning more races.

Southwick teamed up with Randy's Ring and Pinion to replace moving drivetrain parts with better components. He worked with Dmaxstore for steering upgrades. Adrenaline Performance handled the installation.

Adrenaline had already built the motor with So-Cal Diesel pistons, damper, flex plate, valve springs, keepers and main girdle, TTS rods, ARP main and head studs and Adrenaline porting and balancing. The LBZ has been running a compound turbo setup and is in the process of upgrading to a new Adrenaline Compound system. PPE Dual Fuelers handle the fuel load.

When that was all said and done, Southwick added front and rear Fusion bumpers, electric fans, Edge Insight CTS with about every EAS component available, and a few more add-ons that would make any Duramax fan drool.

Whatever Southwick is doing is working. Because winning is everything for him so far this season. Through May, he again leads the Division 2 Super Diesel points on the NHRDA circuit.
