Gale Banks took the microphone in hand as the cover was pulled from the Banks Sidewinder Top Diesel dragster at the 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, November 5.

The Sidewinder dragster is powered by a twin turbo 6.6L Duramax V8. The engine is rated at 1,200 horspower and 1,200 lb-ft or torque. The engine features Banks CleanTune technology with a Liberty 5-speed transmission with air shifter and MRP clutch. The chassis is a Spitzer Top Diesel dragster carbon fiber body and wings on a 276-inch wheelbase. Banks anticipates the Sidewinder to cover the quarter-mile at over 200 mph in under seven seconds.
