George Hann's Truck Next Door

June 2020 Feature My Truck DT Staff

This article originally appeared in the October 2019 issue.

This 6.7L Power Stroke-powered Canadian Maritime truck might not have a lot on it (after all, these trucks are indeed built on a budget), but it still has some remarkable performance bells and whistles. The large exhaust might catch your attention, but even more significant are the K&N cold air intake and the Bully Dog tuner this truck sports. Hann, a heavy equipment operator for Cape Breton Regional Municipality, has enjoyed every minute of owning his 2015 reddish purple crew cab. Although the truck is a daily driver for him, he more radically emphasizes the hauling he does with it as, of course, you get more use out of a three-quarter ton for that activity.

“I haul campers and boats with it,” Hann says. It also doesn’t come as a surprise to us that the greatest aspect about his truck is the power and torque. “It’s a good sturdy truck that never gives me any problems,” he adds. “It’s tough as nails with no issues hauling.” It’s a great example of one of the first trucks with the larger Garrett GT37 turbo that allowed these 6.7Ls to breathe better.
